Early registration for the 3rd Krka Half Marathon open until the end of the year

The northern part of Krka National Park, from the Krka Eco Campus in Puljane to the Burnum Roman military amphitheatre, has hosted runners from around the world for the past two years.

Next year, join the fun and be a part of this great running event: save the date of 4 April 2020 for the 3rd Krka Half Marathon, an international race through Krka National Park.

Early registration has opened and will be available until 31 December 2019. Register online at: https://www.utrka.com/utrke/krka/2020/info/. Then spend the next hundred days until the race preparing and getting into the best form for the moment the starting gun sounds.

The Krka Half Marathon is a family event. Since running is often a family past time, next year the organisers will pay even more attention to children. Little racers will be able to try out numerous races that will be held in the finish area, at Burnum.

Prizes will go to the top three male and female finishers in the main race, the half marathon and the FunRun, a 5.5 km citizen's race. The split time for the large hill ascent next to Brljan Lake, a road that the Emperor Trajan and his legionnaires once travelled upon to Burnum, will also be timed. The fastest man and women to conquer this climb will win a special price – the crown of Emperor Trajan (Corona Traiani). This climb is just over 1 kilometre long, with a 70 metre difference in elevation and a stunning view over the landscape and a fantastic feeling at the top. For runners who succeed in passing another runner on the climb, that feeling is even greater.

The Krka Half Marathon starts at the Krka Eco Campus in Puljane and finishes at the Burnum amphitheatre, and along the way passes through villages with traditional stone houses and dry stone walls. It is almost unbelievable that so many unbelievable places lie within the dry, karst landscape of this deep canyon, formed by man and by the river, and they are well worth seeing. All runners will also receive entrance tickets for Krka National Park in their start packages.
