Life is remembered for experiences – presentation of the book by Ivka Talić, PhD

The Experience Economy in National Parks, the book by Ass. Prof. Ivka Talić, PhD, also an employee of the Krka National Park, was presented yesterday at the Municipal Library "Juraj Šižgorić" in Šibenik.

The experience economy is a term and category that is increasingly of interest to the scientific, professional, and wider public. Using the examples of the Krka, Kornati, and Plitvice Lakes National Parks in the Republic of Croatia and the Una National Park in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the author presents extensive research about the experiences of their visitors and offers a projection of the strategy for contents in national parks as a whole.

The concept of the experience economy and what it offers for the development and presentation of destinations, and the book itself were discussed by a retired professor from the Polytechnic School in Šibenik, Petar Gardijan, MA.

“Within the economic sciences, experiences have become the subject of interest in the last twenty years, mostly in marketing and management. In management, they are mostly used in leading people, motivation, the creation of organizational behavior, and in general in human resource management. Marketing is increasingly focused on creating the experiences of its existing and potential customers. This book is intended for all those who believe that through the experience economy the time has come to create a better, more realistic, and more sustainable development of business entities throughout the economy. National parks are protected areas of natural wealth because of the flora, fauna, and cultural and historical remains. However, they are also tourist destinations and hence they display certain specific characteristics typical for the management of tourist destinations”, emphasized Ass. Prof. Ivka Talić, PhD.
