Works being performed in the Public Institute of Krka National Park in Skradin began this winter and are expected to be completed in early April.
Works at the Skradin branch include reconstruction of the ground floor, which to date contained the souvenir shop with three sales locations. The reconstruction is aimed at improving visitor flow and making it easier to provide information about the park, and also to reduce crowds created due to embarkation onto the boat for Skradinski Buk.
The reconstruction works will optimise the use of space on the ground floor of the building. Visitors will be served at a reception desk with circular flow, and eight sales and information desks. Visitor flow will be in one direction, from the existing entrance into the Skradin branch office, via the circular sales desk, towards the newly built exit. This will help park ticket sales flow faster and visitors will have more time to visit the features in Skradin.
The multimedia and exhibition hall on the first floor of the Skradin branch office will continue to be used as an educational and presentation space. The total investment costs to reconstruct the ground floor is HRK 405,185, fully financed by the Public Institute of Krka National Park.
The optimisation of space in the Skradin branch office and works on the access roads towards Lozovac and Skradinski Buk, as the first phase of the project for responsible visitor management, and will continue in the spring with the completion of construction of additional infrastructure in the coming years.
